Background & Rationale

Mental health needs are increasing across Zambia and the region. However, the major gaps are not only clinical; they are systemic:

• Low mental health literacy
• Lack of data regarding mental health
• Limited trained non-specialist workforce
• Workplace burnout and psychosocial risks
• Limited access to mental health services
• Weak institutional mental health policies
• Persistent stigma and misinformation
• Fragmented referral and support pathways

Organizations increasingly recognize that mental wellness directly impacts productivity, leadership effectiveness, academic performance and community resilience. Yet many institutions lack the knowledge, tools and strategy to address mental health effectively.

Oasis Mental Wellness Services was created to bridge these systemic gaps through education, capacity building, policy advisory, corporate engagement, mental health services and advocacy; positioning mental wellness as both a development and governance priority.
